R. Simpson Hopkins ( Roy ) a native of Scotland, a Master Mariner, having sailed on British vessels, passenger and general cargo, in world wide trades, in all grades, cadet to Master before coming ashore to manage, charter & operate vessels for some twenty years in New York and Houston, Texas,in executive positions During his tenure in the marine field he sat on many marine arbitration panels and acted as an expert witness on behalf of clients in litigation.

Taking early retirement and moving to Maine he continued in the marine field as a marine consultant and surveyor, representing owners and the insurance industry.

He was educated in Ardrossan Academy and Strathclyde University, both in Scotland where he obtained his Master's certificate, qualifying him to command any vessel of unlimited tonnage on any world wide trade.

He decided to entry the real estate industry some 14 years ago, gaining his sales agent's licence and finally his broker's licence allowing him to practice the art, on behalf of principals of buying and selling homes, commercial properties and vacant land in the State of Maine and assisting buyers and sellers with the many tasks involved.
