Paul K. Sidelinger

A nine generation native of Damariscotta, I was born in good ol' Miles Hospital. I went to local schools. When I was a junior at Lincoln Academy, in 1977, I started a small home improvement business, that I still own today. I ran this business seasonally, the first ten years, so I could travel and work in other parts of the country to enhance and expand my skills.

I had quite an interest in real estate development as a teenager and began to attend any seminars offered in my area that had to do with financing and developing property. I also have enjoyed, and still do, seeking the free advice from my elders, especially those who have been where I would like to be. When I was 22 years old, I started my first subdivision with four lots. The next year, I built a duplex and a few years later, renovated the duplex into a four-plex. In the mid 1990's, I purchased the Diamond National Lumber Co. property on Academy Hill Road in Newcastle. It took several years to complete that project, now known as the Newcastle Center, home to nine different businesses, Lincoln Academy's Alternative Education Program and eight residences. In 2000 I bought five run down camps on Pemaquid Lake and started a real estate project called SumFun Cabins. They are seasonal cabins that my wife, Debbie, and I rent during the summer. A couple of years later, we bought DamFun, a Damariscotta Lake property and sold it a year later. Then last spring, Debbie and I bought Village Valley Estates in Nobleboro, a six lot subdivision that we are in the process of developing.

After 30 years of buying, selling, repairing and developing real estate, it seemed only natural that I become a sales agent myself. My vast experience in real estate and knowledge of the area should be an asset to the Coldwell Banker Burton Associates staff.

To help me enjoy and endure life and this organized chaos, is my wife, Debbie. Her sense of humor and excellent bookkeeping and organizational skills are the glue that holds all of our businesses together. Together we are wicked sports fans, and have been season ticket holders for the New England Patriots for many years. We've even been to a few away games. We love to travel around America in our motor home. We have a cool dog named Hooch. In the winter we love to go snowmobiling, but in the summer, we love to be right here, on Pemaquid Lake, where Debbie and I met, as teenagers, so many years ago.

I was born and raised in New Jersey but spent many summers here in Maine, so it's always been a second home to me. My parents bought a vacation home on Pemaquid Lake in the mid seventies and decided to live here permanently in 1978. Having graduated from Paramus High School in 1976, I was already working a full time job and attending a local college in the evenings, so I decided to stay in New Jersey for a while. I lived there until the mid eighties, then moved to Florida for five and half years and then settled here in Maine in 1995 and married a nine generation native in 2000.

My husband, Paul, and I have several businesses in the area, three of them involve either buying, selling or renting real estate and the fourth involves improving real estate, so it seemed an obvious choice for me to become an agent myself, in the spring of 2006. Although I am just starting out as a real estate agent, my experience with real estate, house structures and the area, together with my husband's, is vast. Paul and I, as a team, will be able to serve the clients at Coldwell Banker Burton Associates with the knowledge and expertise that they have always offered.

Paul and I live in Waldoboro and our businesses are in Nobleboro, Newcastle and Bremen. We recently bought a motor home, we like to call our “Wicked Cool Fort,” and have enjoyed traveling around our beloved United States. We are wicked New England Patriots fans and the “Wicked Cool Fort” is great for tailgating. During the winter, when there's snow, we love to go snowmobiling and skiing. And Pemaquid Lake is still one of our favorite places to be, in the summer.
